Modern Jenkins Tutorial
Section titled “Modern Jenkins Tutorial”Jenkins is a powerful, open-source automation server that enables Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Delivery/Deployment (CD) for software projects across various platforms. It is highly extensible through a vast ecosystem of plugins, allowing integration with numerous development, testing, and deployment tools. This tutorial explains how to use modern Jenkins practices, focusing on Pipelines, to automate the building, testing, and deployment of your software.
Audience
Section titled “Audience”This tutorial is designed for software developers, testers, DevOps engineers, and system administrators who want to learn how to implement CI/CD workflows using Jenkins. It assumes a basic understanding of software development concepts, version control (like Git), and command-line interfaces.
Prerequisites
Section titled “Prerequisites”Before starting, you should have a basic familiarity with software development lifecycles (SDLC) and the concepts of Continuous Integration. Experience with a version control system like Git is highly recommended. Access to a machine where you can install Jenkins (or use Docker) is required for following the examples. Familiarity with Java is helpful but not strictly necessary, as examples will cover general concepts applicable to various languages.
