svg_examples

The examples listed below demonstrate various features of SVG. Most modern web browsers widely support embedding SVG code directly into HTML, allowing you to render these graphics natively.

Each item typically represents a common use case or a specific SVG feature. Click on them (if they were interactive links) to see the code and the rendered graphic.

A circle A rectangle A rectangle with opacity A rectangle with opacity (another example) A rectangle with rounded corners An ellipse Three ellipses on top of each other Two ellipses A line A polygon with three sides (triangle) A polygon with four sides (quadrilateral) A star (using polygon or path) Another star variation A polyline (open shape with straight lines) Another polyline example A path (complex shape) A quadratic Bézier curve Rendering text Rotating text Multi-line text Text as a hyperlink Defining stroke color (stroke) Defining stroke width (stroke-width) Defining line cap styles (stroke-linecap) Creating dashed lines (stroke-dasharray)

Gaussian blur effect (feGaussianBlur) Offsetting an element and blending (feOffset, feBlend) Blurring an offset image for soft shadow (feOffset, feGaussianBlur) Creating a black shadow (feOffset, SourceAlpha) Coloring a shadow (feColorMatrix) A feBlend filter example Filter example 1 Filter example 2 Filter example 3 Filter example 4 Filter example 5 Filter example 6

SVG Miscellaneous (including Animations with SMIL)

Section titled “SVG Miscellaneous (including Animations with SMIL)”

Rectangle with a repeating fade animation (5 seconds) A growing rectangle that changes color (animation) Three rectangles changing color (animation) Moving text along a motion path (animation) Moving, rotating, and scaling text along a motion path (animation) Combined animation: text on motion path and a growing, color-changing rectangle Rotating ellipses (animation)

Note: While SMIL (Synchronized Multimedia Integration Language) is used for some SVG animations, CSS Animations and the Web Animations API are also powerful modern alternatives for animating SVG elements, especially when coordinating with other HTML content.
